As the soprano voice of the brass family, the trumpet is at home in all genres of music, from classical to country, jazz to rock. Due to its versatility, trumpets are used in marching band, concert band, orchestra, chamber ensembles, and as a solo instrument. Trumpets are constructed of brass or silver, but all share just three valves and seven fingerings to create a complete three-octave range!
Unlike woodwind instruments that employ numerous keys and fingerings to change pitch, trumpet players use their lips as the primary source of sound production. Having a "good ear" is essential to becoming a successful trumpet player. Our trumpet instructors at Pellegrino Fine Arts Academy combine years of teaching experience with professional performance credentials to help every trumpet student achieve his or her musical goals.
What are the benefits of trumpet lessons?
- One-on-one, individualized instruction tailored to meet your specific needs
- Our instructors teach proper embouchure, hand position, posture, and correct bad habits that may impede a student's progress
- Students learn ear-training skills essential to playing a brass instrument
- Students are introduced to trumpet literature (solos, etudes, ensembles) written by foremost composers for that instrument
