The trombone holds the distinction of being the only member of the brass family that uses a single slide to produce pitch rather than a set of valves.

Trombones are found in all musical genres, serving as either a tenor or bass voice, depending upon instrumentation. Trombonists produce pitch by shortening or extending the instrument slide through a series of seven positions. For each slide position, several pitches can be attained through a player's lip tension. Having a "good ear" is essential to becoming a successful trombonist. Our instructors at Pellegrino Fine Arts Academy combine years of performance expertise and teaching experience to help every trombone student master this challenging instrument!

What are the benefits of trombone lessons?

  • One-on-one, individualized instruction tailored to meet your specific needs
  • Our instructors teach proper embouchure, slide-positioning, posture, and correct bad habits that may impede a student's progress
  • Students learn ear-training skills essential to playing a brass instrument
  • Students are introduced to trombone literature (solos, etudes, ensembles) written by foremost composers for that instrument

Pellegrino Fine Arts Academy trombone lessons cost $112.00 per month. For your $112.00, you receive four lessons, one per week, each 30 minutes in length. In months with five weeks, we do charge for the fifth week of lessons, bringing your tuition to $140.00 for those months. There is a one-time registration fee of $30.00 for all new students, with a discounted registration fee of $20.00 for each additional family member.

With our program, you are under no obligation to enroll for any "set" period of time - you can begin lessons whenever you like and can discontinue at any time. Payment is through our automated billing system and is charged to your choice of credit or debit card on the first of each month for the month in advance.
