Ohio Summer Music Camp

MAKE IT A MUSICAL SUMMER!

BROADWAY BLAST!

Our summer youth music camp is comprised of a two-week intensive workshop for choral performance July 6 - 17 for singers age 10 through 17. Professional vocal teacher and coach, Rose Darling will work with the group on presenting music from some of the most well-recognized Broadway musicals of the past and one of the most popular recent musicals - Wicked!

A recital for friends and family will be held on Friday, July 17 and the group will perform at Downtown Canton's First Friday on August 7. $200 per student

AFRICAN DRUMMING

Learn how to make a Jembe "speak" in a variety of rhythms and techniques with degreed symphony percussionist Tom Roblee. Drums provided. July 27 - August 7.

For drummers age 16 through adult.

The group will meet on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6 - 8 pm for drumming, fun and some light refreshments. $250 per student

ADVENTURE CAMPS

Camps are offered at 11 - 12 am or 6 - 9 pm each day. All prices include a package of at-home materials for each child, in-class materials, snacks, and crafts (for Our Time and Imagine That). Class sizes are limited to 12 students. Additional classes may be added to the schedule.

Birth - 18 months

Parents, grandparents and/or caregivers are required to share the adventures with their child at each session.

Peek-A-Boo, I Love You. June 15, 17, 22, 24, 29

Your baby's brain will expand tremendously in the first few years. And by the time he or she is two years old, they will have developed an understanding of thousands of words. More than just a curious story, Mother Goose games like peek-a-boo help babies develop their language skills and their relationships. In this special Ohio music camp we will discover more ways to say "I love you" using American Sign Language, soap bubbles, and the intentional touch of parent-baby dances. As always, the structure allows plenty of time for babies to interact with other children and parents.

Busy Days August 10, 12, 17, 19, 24

$100 per session before 7/31 $110 after 7/31

Set your baby's day to classical music! Each Kindermusik lesson features new activities and songs that the parent can sing for all the places baby and mom go together....the store, the playground, the doctor and more! We'll sing and play and try out new instruments and adventures together during our five Busy Days of August.

18 months - 3 years

Parents or grandparents or caregivers are asked to share the adventures with their children every day.

Creatures in My Backyard. June 16, 18, 23, 30, July 2

$110 before 6/5 $120 after 6/5

Give your children something to sing about in their own backyard! During this week we will pretend to be the flower from the perspective of the seed, and see how much we grow in five short days! We will run and jump in "rain puddles" made from hula hoops and snack on whole wheat mini-waffles dipped in honey, just like a real honeycomb. We'll shoo away flies as we sing "Shoo Fly" and find lots of other adventures while we make lots of new friends.

Creatures in the Ocean August 11, 13, 18, 20, 25

$110 before 7/31 $120 after 7/31

We'll go to sea and sing sailor's songs. We'll count "Five little seashells lying on the shore: Swish! Went the waves and then there were four." Our ocean adventures will include homemade kites and "fish" sandwiches using fish-shaped bread and peanut butter and jelly, snack on "Goldfish" and tropical treats. We'll decorate our room with the tropical fish we might find in Hanauma Bay on the Island of Oahu, and have lots of "underwater" adventures!

3 - 5 years

Parents are invited to join the class for the last 15 minutes so we can share our adventures with you.

On The Road. July 6 - 10 (Mon - Fri)

$125 per session before 6/25 $135 after 6/25

You may enjoy these adventures as much as your child! Every song is likely to revive a special memory from past summers. We'll play "Eye Spy" and find shapes in the clouds to pass the time. We'll take imaginary trips in a bus named "Van Go" to fun-filled vacation destinations such as the carnival, a summer cottage and the beach. We'll decorate our Kindermusik oom with all the souvenirs we collect during our road trip and share them with moms & dads at the end of each day. We'll enjoy healthy snacks from the road-side stands we pass each day and learn lots of new music.

Confetti Days. July 13 - 17(Mon - Fri)

$125 per session before 6/25 $135 after 6/25

Did you ever wish you could throw a party every day! We will! We'll ride a carousel in the classroom, play a balancing game and walk on a web of ropes. We'll play "musical freeze" with "Pop Goes the Weasel' and "Looby Loo" and we'll learn colors as we sing the Spanish song "De Coloures". Every day will be a party with fun (and healthy) snacks, music, games and lots of new friends!
